PAWS With A Cause enhances the independence and quality of life for people with disabilities nationally through custom-trained Assistance Dogs. PAWS increases awareness of the right and roles of Assistance Dog Teams through education and advocacy.
PAWS exists to create opportunity for people to live with dignity, companionship and confidence.

The PAWS training process is so successful because it is so customized! We use a ‘Client First’ matching model. This means we work closely with our Client Services department to give the client an Assistance Dog that fits as easily as possible into their life.

Our History
Founded in 1979, Paws With A Cause started with a simple goal: train one dog for one client. Since then, we've certified over 4,000 PAWS Client/Dog teams, helped found Assistance Dogs International, and have established ourselves as leaders in the service dog industry through our innovative and effective training methods.

How We Do It
PAWS trains four types of Assistance Dogs: Service Dogs to help with a wide variety of disabilities, Seizure Response dogs, Hearing Dogs to alert our Deaf/Hard of Hearing clients to important noises around them, and SDA Dogs who help kids with autism.

We also partner with other non-profits to place Facility Dogs in schools, hospitals, long-term care facilities, and other places where a fuzzy face can brighten a stressful day.
