Pawster's mission is to end pet homelessness before it begins, by providing Crisis Foster Care for dogs and cats as an alternative to surrender. When a pet's family experiences a crisis, such as domestic violence, hospitalization, loss of housing, addiction treatment, natural disaster, and more, they have often have no other option but to surrender their beloved pet to a shelter.

But we believe no one should lose a pet because of a temporary crisis.

By caring for pets until their families are back on their feet, Pawster keeps pets out of the shelter and families together.

Since 2020, Pawster has cared for over 200 pets and their families, reuniting 90% and rehoming the rest directly to new families without surrender to a shelter.

Pawster's goal is to provide Crisis Foster Care for at least 150 pets while their families are in crisis. With your help, we can provide the veterinary care and pet supplies needed to give the best care to these animals until they can go home to their families.
