In 1982 the Pawtucket St. Patrick's Day Parade was founded and every year since, it has brought the community and local small businesses together to celebrate the city's Irish heritage. Throughout the years a dedicate group of volunteers has contributed their time to keep the tradition going. Along with paid marching units, many local school bands, dance clubs, and Scout troops are part of the parade. It is a day of celebration that many have handed down to generations of family members.
