Peace for Warriors mission is to help veterans recover from PTSD by taking them to volunteer abroad and we aim to do this by creating our trips to match the military deployment cycle but with a positive twist. We take them through a process that is familiar to them, but instead of deploying to combat, we deploy to a place that can give them a new sense of purpose. We believe that experiences such as building schools in Africa, repairing homes in the Philippines, and other such humanitarian work under similar conditions that they have experienced in the military can help reframe the trauma of their combat experiences and make the transition into civilian life, easier which in turn will help lower the veteran suicide rate.
