The People Inc. story began on August 14, 1970, when a small group of parents of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities joined with professionals to address their needs. Though they may never have predicted what our organization has become and how many lives we impact, we hope those parents who came together to establish People Inc. 50 years ago, would be proud today. And we hope that you are, too. You are part of our story, our history, and our future.
