The Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy is a nonprofit environmental education and conservation organization sustained entirely off of grants, memberships, and donations. Our mission is to serve the residents of the 362 square mile Perkiomen Creek Watershed by teaching thousands of students each year about our local environment, working with the community to complete impactful conservation projects, and hosting outdoor recreation events which allow local residents to make connections with the environment. The Conservancy’s environmental education programs, like our Summer Science Academy and Floating Classroom Summer Science Program, annually teach over 9,000 children about stream ecology, local habitats, watershed stewardship, and more. Our conservation projects, such as the annual Stream Clean-up and our Native Plant Project, involve thousands of community members each year and create positive impacts in our local environment. The Conservancy’s annual Stream Clean-up has been the largest stream-side clean-up in the state of Pennsylvania now for three consecutive years, involving over 1,400 volunteers in 2022. Our outdoor recreation events like the Perkiomen Creek Sojourn, invite watershed residents to experience, enjoy, and connect with the local environment.
