Our mission is to support excellence in education in P-H-M schools, located in Granger, Mishawaka and South Bend, IN.

In 1996 PHMEF was established as an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting the educational mission of our schools. The Foundation develops alternative sources of income to support learning while strengthening the partnership between schools and community. Dedicated business leaders, administrators, and community volunteers, representing a cross-section of the school community, serve as the board of directors.

PHMEF supports education through awarding innovative teaching grants, scholarships to students, staff development and other corporation-wide initiatives.

PHMEF’s funding comes from special events such as its premier Silver Mile, Casino Night, Superintendent's Luncheon, Annual Drive, Naming Rights, Corporations for Education, Thank a Teacher, and individual donations.

The P-H-M Education Foundation will host the 15th annual Silver Mile Health & Fitness Fair on May 16, 2020. As PHMEF’s premiere fundraising event featuring a Bubble Bash Fun Run for Education, St. Joseph Health System’s Heath Fair, Summer Fitness Expo and silent auction, we attract more than 2,000 participants, year after year.

Last year the silent auction alone raised more than $18,000. All of these funds go into grants and programs that directly benefit the students across all grades in P-H-M Schools. From student wellness programs (Drumming 101) to technology upgrades (iPads) to STEM student scholarships, these funds make profound educational improvements to our student’s experiences that wouldn’t otherwise have been possible.

Our families often consider trips to Chicago a “staycation.” Therefore, YOU, our regional supporters, make all of this possible! We kindly ask for your support through a donation for our silent auction. Your donation is 100% tax deductible as PHMEF is a 501(c)(3). You will receive a tax receipt for your records once your donation has been received.

Publicity for the Silver Mile silent auction reaches P-H-M’s 10,000 students, their families and the Mishawaka, Granger and South Bend communities through school newsletters, print materials, the PHMEF & PHM websites, Facebook and Twitter social media. As a bonus to our silent auction donors, you are also welcome to provide a promotional item for the race packets, given to nearly 600 Run for Education participants.
