Personalized Preparatory (PL Prep) at Sam Houston, is a small Title1 school of 287 students (Pre-K3 through 5th grade). PL Prep is a unique academic environment that supports customized learning by providing a one-size-fits-one approach to instruction that taps into each student’s strengths, needs, and interests to create individualized learning plans. This supports the student’s voice and allows them to make decisions on what, how, when, and where they learn, to ensure that all students can achieve their greatest potential. The school’s four pillars also support student development by encouraging them to be Compassionate, Reflective, Intentional, and Empowered.
We have a diverse racial, ethnic, and socio-economic student body and an amazing blend of family structures that represents the melting pot that is Dallas. Many families live in Oaklawn and surrounding areas, but as a choice school within the DISD system, we also have families that journey from different parts of the city to take advantage of the incredible academic and cultural environment which has been cultivated at PL Prep.
For the 2022-2023 academic year we have 5 events planned that will serve as opportunities for community engagement, family enrichment, and student development. We need your support to make them happen! In addition to these incredible events we are also seeking sponsors to raise $25,000 to build a covered outdoor learning center for the school.
