As a Certified Community Behavioral Health Agency, we have expanded our services to support health and healing across the lifespan. Our staff delivers individualized, holistic, trauma-informed care to 2,300 adults, adolescents, children, and families annually. Services include individual, group, and family therapy; psychiatry and medication management; Health Care Home and physical health integration; substance use treatment including Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT); case management and community support; Individual Placement and Support (IPS) for vocational rehabilitation; HIV services; a Recovery Center day program; Assertive Community Treatment (ACT); homeless outreach; and 24/7 crisis response.
Our programs and services are community-based and home-based and delivered through multi-disciplinary teams that include a team leader, assistant team leader, a psychiatrist/prescriber or nurse, vocational specialist, peer, integrated health coach, therapist, and substance use specialist as needed. Our recent accomplishments include the following:
● 2015: Family Care Health Centers opened a satellite site at Places for People to improve access to care.
● 2016: Places for People welcomed its first full-time Medical Director to oversee all integrated care and
psychiatric services.
● 2017: Places for People expanded care and launched new services as the only Certified Community Behavioral Health Center in St. Louis City or County, one of only 13 across the State of Missouri, and one of less than 50 across the country. New services include outpatient therapy, substance use treatment including a suboxone clinic, and expanded services for children, youth, and their families.
● 2020 Recipient of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Center Expansion grant CCBHX-20 to service justice-involved individuals with mental health needs.
