Plano West Lacrosse Club (PWLC) is a club sports organization for both high school and youth lacrosse players in the Plano West High School feeder district of Plano, Texas. PWLC provides lacrosse teams, coaching, and athletic training for boys in Kindergarten through High School. Plano West Varsity team competes in the Texas High School Lacrosse League (THSLL) in Division 1, the top division of competition in the state of Texas. We offer a continuous lacrosse experience playing for Plano West from elementary school, through middle school, into high school, and finally in senior high school. Plano West Lacrosse is the official lacrosse club of Plano West Senior High School and West Plano. Our club is an 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation headquartered in Plano, Texas.
In 2005 under the guidance of Coach Flick the Plano West Lacrosse team won the DII State Championship. In 2011 Plano West moved to DI, the highest level of competetion in Texas lacrosse. In 2012 Plano West reached the Quater Finals of the Texas State High School Championship.
The sport of lacrosse is a combination of basketball, soccer and hockey. Anyone can play lacrosse - big or small. The game requires and rewards coordination and agility, not brawn. Quickness and speed are two highly prized qualities in lacrosse, not size. An exhilarating sport, lacrosse is fast-paced and full of action. Long sprints up and down the field with abrupt starts and stops, precision passes and dodges are routine in men's lacrosse. Lacrosse is played with a stick, the crosse, which must be mastered by the player to throw, catch and scoop the ball.
