Pleasant Prairie Elementary School offers its students a strong academic foundation, a safe learning environment, a talented and compassionate staff, as well as a dedicated parent organization. However, at the heart of our school is the integration of nine core ethical values: respect, responsibility, citizenship, hope, courage, compassion, self-discipline, integrity, and work ethic. Our proactive, multi-faceted approach to character education includes classroom instruction, student recognition, and community service.
Throughout the school year, Pleasant Prairie students are recognized for exemplifying specific character traits. Students are presented with a “character” sticker, a certificate and their picture is showcased on our school’s “Students of Character” display. Specific achievements related to our character traits are also celebrated with “High Fives in the Hallway.” These nine core values shape the culture of our school and prepare our young students with the attitudes and tools necessary for a lifetime of success and happiness. Pleasant Prairie was honored as a National School of Character.
