John Paul II Polish Language School in Walnut Creek, CA

INFORMATION ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

The John Paul II Polish Language School was founded in 1967, and our staff and teachers have had the privilege of enriching our students’ connection to Polish heritage, culture, language, and history for over fifty years. We are located in Walnut Creek, and serve students from all over the San Francisco Bay Area.

Our school teaches children from 3 years old through high school, and upon graduation from our accredited curriculum, students can take a matriculation exam to earn college language credits.  In addition to Polish language, history, and religion, students learn music and folk dancing, and many perform in our dance group, “Orliki”, which proudly represents the school and Polish culture at festivals and other events in the Bay Area.

During the school year, our teachers and board of directors organize several events.  One of the most popular is Polish Wigilia, in which our little artists perform in a Christmas pageant with a Nativity play and traditional folk dances.  Our annual poetry competition and recital features beautiful poems from famous and lesser-known Polish poets. For Easter, we offer lessons in traditional Polish Easter egg decoration.  We have an extra special celebration of Mother’s and Father’s Days, with each class giving a dance or dramatic performance for parents.

The Polish school in Walnut Creek has an engaging  curriculum customized to students’ individual language skills and experience.  Conversational lessons, and one-on-one focused work enable us to help every student succeed.  Our students come to school to learn about the language and heritage of their ancestors, and the time they spend together creates friendships that last a lifetime.
