We are a community-driven, faith-based non-profit whose local partnerships and holistic programs cultivate meaningful relationships and empower people of all backgrounds, particularly at-risk youth and their families, to work together toward personal and community transformation.
Pomona Hope has been an integral part of after-school learning and holistic family support in the greater Pomona area for 20 years. We serve on average more than eighty K-12th grade students and familiesper year. The majority of Pomona Hope students live in household with low to moderate income and 92% of participants identify as students of color. Almost all of our studnets face the challenges of being the first in their families to attend college if they choose to pursue that path.
We seek to serve youth and their families holistically. Therefore, we do not only focus on academics but also on the physical, mental, and personal well-being of participants. Students in our programs achieve higher-than-district average grades, play and move daily during facilitated gym games, practice self-expression and social-emotional learning in enrichment workshops, and build trusting, healthy relationships with peers and adults every day.
