POSA was founded in 1998 and is comprised up of sworn and civilian employees of the Scottsdale Police Department. In order to further serve the Scottsdale community, POSA Outreach - a 501c3 charity - was created in 2005. POSA Outreach benefits at-risk and low-income families in Scottsdale through programs such as our Sirens and Sleigh Bells holiday shopping events for both youth and teens, or sponsorship of the Covering the Bases back to school event, and the year-round availability of our KidCare ID fingerprinting for kids as well as adults with a risk of wandering.
