Through the tireless efforts of our staff and volunteers Prairie Paws Animal Shelter is dedicated to carrying out the following actions:
· Give aid and comfort to the homeless shelter animals
· Educate the community in responsible pet ownership
· Help reunite pets with owners by offering low cost microchipping
· Provide pet adoptions
· Create a safer community

We are a privately funded, no kill, non- profit servicing much of North Eastern Kansas through our adoptions and low cost spay and neuter program.  People come from hours away to adopt animals from our shelter.  We are blessed to have 8 staff and many volunteers that help our shelter stay open.  Through training, medical attention, food, grooming, and basic care and exercise these animals take a lot of finanicial resources to provide for.  We work with local communities to support our efforts and take the best care of these dogs and cats that we can through our daily care on site and through foster homes these animals live in.
