Praise Sanctuary Ministries was established in 1989 to serve the Los Angeles inner city. PSC has been a long standing fixture in the community serving in the capacity of youth literacy through education, senior citizen’s programs, and community awareness. Our target demographic is the underserved community in the 90044 area with a population of 89,779 with a median income of $25,520.
The Vermont corridor, which stretches north from Imperial Highway has been labeled “death alley” due to the number of homicides each year. In spite of the high crime rate, we still serve the community in excellence and assist in efforts to help fight crime. Most companies won’t serve this community due to the crime rate. The PSC team forges forward in making sure those that live and work in this community have access to resources.
Over the past two years since the onset of COVID-19 , PSC has worked to ensure that the health access, healthy food options, and economic relief needs are addressed. PSC has used reading material and local medical partners to engage and provide information about the virus and appropriate protection measures. PSC has delivered thousands of pounds of food and thousands of pieces of personal protective equipment to the Vermont Community. PSC continues to advocate during the pandemic to ensure that this community has access to hand sanitizer, masks, and FREE Covid testing.
