The Primate Rescue Center occupies over 30 acres in central Kentucky, with buildings, enclosures and grounds designed to afford 9 chimpanzees and 39 monkeys a quiet, sheltered place to spend their lives. The residents have found refuge from biomedical research, the entertainment industry, and the pet trade. The PRC has undertaken the lifetime care of these animals, some of which will likely live another 50 years. We strive to provide these deserving individuals with the highest quality of care in a supportive environment conducive to their rehabilitation and recovery from past traumas.
The Primate Rescue Center is a 501(c)3 organization (61-1325369), funded entirely by private donations and partnerships. Our mission is to alleviate the suffering of primates wherever it occurs. We are proud to be among the few national charities accredited by the Better Business Bureau and have earned the Best in America seal from the Independent Charities of America.
