Project Access is a non-profit organization, originally started in CA in 1999 (this is where our current headquarter is located), over the years, they have expanded and are now located in 14 states, Nevada being one of them. How this nonprofit works is; Project Access works with investors, the investor in Nevada is Bridge Property Management. Bridge Property Management buys apartment complexes and hires Project Access to provide services to the residents living in them.
Las Vegas started as a pilot program three years ago, with the first location being Topaz Springs Apartments (across from the Nellis Airforce Base). The second location opened in 2020 at Ridge on Charleston Apartments (located near US 95 and Charleston) and my location, Accent on Decatur (located on Decatur and Sahara) opened last fall. We are due to open another location in the upcoming year. As we know, there is such a large population in our city that needs support, this is where Project Access comes in! As a Resident Services Coordinator, my role is to provide services to the residents of Accent on Decatur in the form of financial education, employment, housing assistance, health & wellness, college & career preparation, just to name a few.
Every month, our centers are to host events for our residents. Each month, we have a theme in place. The theme for the month of February was "Valentine's Day", the theme for the month of March was "Health and Wellness" and the theme for the month of April is “Spring Cleaning” so on and so forth.
