Promising Futures, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization located in San Diego serving adults with developmental disabilities through residential and day program services. Promising Futures was formed by parents who believed quality residential services should be available to all families. Our residential focus is to provide a safe, rich environment, while facilitating independent skill development in all areas of daily living. Our treatment goals target independent living, self-care, cognitive, social/emotional and communication objectives. All programs are developed to address each resident's individual needs. Our home-like setting provides many natural opportunities to teach necessary skills. To us independence means dignity and awareness of one's own value to those around him/her. Our day program; The Center for Independent Achievement, provides services and vocational training to 50+ adults with developmental disabilities. C.I.A. is based on the philosophy that every individual deserves to participate in a meaningful work day in order to promote dignity and self-worth. Individuals are matched with specific activities that correspond to their skill and interest level. C.I.A. promotes teaching independent work skills, community integration and development of social relationships.
