As a NYC public school, budgets are very tight so all after school programs (things like chess, math and science club) and enrichment activities such as the school's annual theatre production and technology equipment are funded by the dollars raised by the school's PTA, a 501(c)3 led by volunteer parents. We also fund basic things like the school's website, caps and gowns for our graduating classes, new books for the library and annual teacher trainings. Every dollar raised goes directly to the school and school-related programming. We are a fortunate community for which we are very grateful but these funds are critical to making our school an exceptional place for our children to grow and learn.
