Purse Power was established with the goal of making every woman feel dignified in her own skin. It's easy to take basic sanitary items for granted, but no woman should have to wonder how she is going to get through her monthly period without embarrassment. It's a simple plan: fill donated gently used purses with feminine hygiene products (i.e. tampons, pads, feminine wipes, hand sanitizer, deodorant, soap, shampoo, toothbrush& toothpaste, etc.), then delivery the filled purses to various domestic abuse shelters and homeless shelters in the greater Las Vegas area. In 2021, we delivered 452 purses to S.A.F.E. House, Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, and Friends of the Desert. Other then basic administrative costs, all revenue goes toward the contents of purses. Purse Power does not have any overhead or pay any salaries; we operate solely with volunteers.
