I am writing to you on the behalf of the Raccoon Township Independent Volunteer Fire Department, a non-profit organization (Tax ID 25-1385311), that has been serving our community since 1947.  We are located in Beaver County, about 30 miles north of the city of Pittsburgh, PA; a rural community with approximately 3,500 citizens.

 

2020 & 2021 have been years to remember (or to forget).   A year of shutdowns, closures, and cancellations.  We at Raccoon Township VFD were also affected like most large and small, profit and non-profit businesses. We ended our fish fry’s midterm; had a virtual sportsman’s bash and for the first time ever; cancelled our annual fair- a tradition of 65 years.

 

During this time, there were still bills that need paid and due to no fundraising, and in time of need our community stepped in and has gone above and beyond and helped where needed.
