Located in Evanston, we are a global non-profit with over 2,500 sites across the US. Rainbows' programs help children who are grieving the loss of a parent or guardian due to death, divorce, deployment, deportation, incarceration or other trauma. For 38 years, Rainbows' trained facilitators, using our time-tested, age-appropriate curriculum, have established peer support groups in schools and community centers. These credible messengers help children to begin to process the complex emotions they often experience as they navigate troubled waters. Our goal is to provide grief support to every child where they live, learn, and play, eliminating availability, finances and/or geography as barriers to support.
