Reading Partners serves 15 Title 1 schools in Los Angeles County. We establish reading centers on 15 elementary school campuses to provide one on one volunteer tutoring to approximately 700 students. At these centers, 80% of students striving to read at grade level were able to meet and exceed their primary end-of-year literacy growth goal by the end of the academic school year. In the 2022/23 school year Reading Partners delivered 18,279 tutoring sessions using 887 community tutors. 95% of our students identify as people of color. We are able to support elementary school students achieve reading proficiency through data informed, curriculum driven, one on one volunteer tutoring.
