Our mission is to empower trafficked and sexually exploited women to live a life of freedom through faith based residential healing programs.
Our vision is for every woman that is sexually exploited to have hope, support, and tools needed to pursue her dreams and live a life of freedom.
We have multiple locations across the United States with one here in the North Texas area. Our non-profit, faith based organization offers up to two years of specialized continuum of care at no charge to the residents. Residents progress through nationally recognized, evidence based, trauma-informed programming, with around the clock staffing. The trained commpassionate staff support residents as they work to reclaim their identities and reach their goals: overcoming addictions, healing from trauma, developing life skills, establishing support networks, living with healthy rhythms of life and attaining financial independence. Refuge for Women strives to help each woman complete the program with a vision for her future, equipped to succeed and sustain a life marked with dignity and hope.
We serve women ages 18 and over who have a history of trafficking and sexual expoloitation. Our residents have a history of homelessness and are categorized as extremely low income per U.S. Housing and Urban Development guidelines. Our residents have various levels of mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, nightmares, self-harm tendencies, suicidal ideation, pesonality disorders, OCD tendencies, etc. Most have a history of substance abuse, physical and/or sexual abuse as a child.
