The Richardson Adult Literacy Center, a local non-profit 501(c)(3) organization since 1990, provides free English as a second language material and classes to more than 600 adults annually in Richardson and Northern Dallas. These programs are primarily funded through private donations. With more than 19,000 adults in our community speaking little or no english, most with a household income of less than $31,000, the need for our community service is great. By learning English, these adults are able to get better jobs, better engage in their childrens education, obtain U.S. citizenship and much more.
