The purpose of the Rotary Club of Jefferson follows Rotary International's motto of "Service Above Self." The Rotary Club of Jefferson donates 100% of its Annual Charity Auction to help Youth and families in and around Greene County, IA. We recently donated $50,000 for a Dog Park in Jefferson, IA where none previously existed. Local schools, our only hospital, law enforcement, fire department and other first responders, are other high priority organizations we donate to.
This is our only fundraiser of the year and no Service Club in our county donates more money annually. Nearly half the students in our schools qualify for free & reduced lunch, so this is not a high income county.
