Ten years ago we too quickly lost our friend Christine to an aggressive form of cancer at 37 years old. In an effort to keep the memory of a great person and friend alive- our friends and family created the Christine Gallagher Scholarship. For the past ten years we have been able to hold an annual Gallagher Day event where we get together to retell stories. At this event we hold raffles to raise money for the scholarship(s) to be awarded.
We have been lucky enough to be able to award a local senior (sometimes two) with a generous scholarship year after year. As Christine worked with kids and took care of her differently abled brother, this scholarship is awarded in her honor to a senior (seniors) who demonstrate service to persons with disabilities. The past two years have been extremely difficult as we were unable to hold the main event for our fundraising- but we were able to make it work.
