Founded in 1978, the mission of Ronald McDonald House Houston is to offer a home away from home providing care, compassion, and hope to families with seriously ill children being treated in Texas Medical Center member institutions.
In 2021 we served 1,634 families at our 4 locations: Holcombe House with 70 bedrooms, Texas Children's Hospital with 19 bedrooms and family lounges on 10 specialized care floors, Children's Memorial Herman Hospital with 20 bedrooms across 3 special care floors, and MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital with 2 bedrooms and 3 family lounges. All told we had more than 21,000 overnight stays take place at our various locations.
In addition, in 2021, we provide additional support through meals (28,872 catered meal plates, 49,873 breakfasts served, 100,131 grab-and-go snacks, wi-fi, and over 300 program activities for our families.
We aim to be a true home away from home for our families, keeping families close when they need it the most.
