To provide information, resources, parenting education, academic guidance, and emotional support to pregnant and/or parenting teens in order to empower all students to reach their individual potential and become contributing members of a diverse community.
The Round Rock ISD Teen Parent Program is a comprehensive program designed to help pregnant and/or parenting students successfully graduate from high school. It consists of 5 components designed to support students so that they can continue in school.
I am a Home bound teacher with the Round Rock ISD Teen Parent Program. We are a comprehensive program designed to help regnant and parenting teens successfully graduate from high school. While we focus largely on drop-out prevention, we also know that part of supporting teen parents includes helping them learn healthy parenting skills so they can raise happy, healthy, well-cared-for children who will be our next generation of RRISD students and community members.
On each of our campuses we facilitate teen parent support groups where students learn about child development, parenting and healthy relationships. Additionally, each year we host the “Young Parent Expo” which is a full day field trip where teen parents across the district attend workshops designed to help them with parenting, relationships and planning for their futures. The day also includes a resource fair where 20-25 agencies from our community come to share information about their services with our students.
This year we will be holding our annual “Young Parent Expo” and expect to have approximately 40 people from the Round Rock Independent School Districts to be in attendance. We are currently seeking door prize donations for our event. We are relying on community support in order to be able to facilitate this event and hope you will be able to support our program with a donation from your business.
