Since 1976, Roy Maas Youth Alternatives (RMYA) has served over 87,000 children, youth and young adults through our mission of creating a brighter future for children and families in crisis by promoting individual success and healthy relationships in a safe, healing environment, giving them the tools to end the cycle of abuse. We serve children in the state of Texas in the foster care system, many of whom have suffered abuse, neglect, abandonment, homelessness or trafficking. We provide them with a safe, therapeutic environment where they receive 24-hour supervision, medical and dental care, shelter, food, clothing and therapeutic services. We provide a variety of programs for vulnerable youth populations, including a emergency shelter, long-term residential programs for children in crises, a family counseling & resource center with counseling and psychiatric services for residential and community children, and a transitional living program for homeless young adults (former foster care youth, youth in extended foster care and homeless community youth).
