WHAT WE OFFER

 

·       Educate our communities throughout Schuylkill and Carbon counties on the real facts about substance use through preventative drug education in schools and adult programs. 

·       Network with other like-minded groups and schools in assisting with preventative drug education and prevention methods for substance use disorder (SUD).

·       Give hope to all affected by substance use disorder.  This is a family disease that does not discriminate.

·       For those that reach out for treatment, Safer Streets Tamaqua assist in locating inpatient beds as well providing basic needs including clothing and personal hygiene supplies when needed.  This is an important step to one’s recovery.

For those that entered treatment through Safer Streets Tamaqua and complete treatment but wish to utilize a structured sober living home we will scholarship the first two weeks of rent.

·       Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) provide resources to find jobs, acquire ID’s, birth certificates, and help enroll into GED classes plus pay for testing when needed.

·       Safer Streets Tamaqua offers Certified Recovery Specialist courses for free to allow those who want a career helping others the opportunity to do so.

·       Our Certified Family Recovery Specialists (CFRS) work with the family in understanding addiction while helping rebuild the family structure and wellness.

·       Uniting people in recovery with members of the community in beautification projects to bring back town pride, a sense of community, and normalize recovery.

·       Job training is also provided by Safer Streets in computer graphics, screen printing, vinyl, sublimation, lawn signs, political signs, banners, printing and design.

·       With the use our Safer Streets for Tamaqua’s Little Feet Facebook and website pages we educate the community about resources that are available.

·       Our mission is to: (i) educate our community about the dangers of opioids and the signs of substance abuse, and (ii) provide practical support to individuals struggling with opioid addiction -helping them

·       maintain a healthy life so they can spend many years with their loved ones.
