In additon to Sunday worship and weekly prayer group, our church hosts a few other ministries. The first of these is what we call "Blessing Bags". These bags provide meals, snacks, and drinks for children in the neighborhood who rely on their schools free breakfasts and lunches to eat. The Blessing Bags for Children contain 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners, snacks and drinks for the weekends. All food is non-perishable so the children can prepare it themselves. This program is run weekly, bags are given out every Friday evening. On average we give out 150 Blessing Bags per week. In addition to Blessing Bags, we also run a bi weekly "Common Good Dinner". We prepare hot meals consisting of indivually packaged baked ziti and hot roast beef sandwiches, served with the options of fresh salad or vegetables and dessert on the side. Both of these organizations run purely on donations. The final 2 events I want to mention are our annual coat drive and Christmas Angels. Each fall we host a Coat Drive for both children and adults in the area. During this we give out winter coats, hats, gloves, and scarves all free of charge. Finally, every December we host our annual Christmas Angels. Every winter, many of the families who come form Blessing Bags, Common Good, and the Coat Drive reach out for assistance to provide their children with a Christmas that they cannot do on their own. We "sponsor" about a dozen or so families and purchase gifts so that their children don't feel like they're missing out and stil can experience those joys of the holiday season. Our organization tries its best to make everyone feel welcome, whether they are joining us for our Sunday church service or reaching out in need of help, we welcome them with open arms and warm embraces!
