Transforming lives since 1973, Samaritan Counseling Center (SCC) is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide professional, faith-sensitive counseling & educational services that facilitate healing, hope, & forgiveness. Affordable, high quality services are guided by the “Samaritan model” – whole person healing that involves mind, body, spirit, & community. Programs are offered in English & Spanish to individuals regardless of religion, race, age, gender, sexual orientation, color or national origin.
In order to achieve our mission, SCC’s activities & programs include:
• Outpatient Counseling Program - provides professional therapeutic & educational services to children, adults, & families in Upland & surrounding communities. One of our specialties is play therapy – including a fully equipped “Play Therapy Room” that allows young children/youth to express their relational & psychological issues through the use of art, toys, games, sand tray therapy, & trauma informed practices.
• BEAMS (Behavioral Education And Management Services)–provides in-home behavior intervention services & parent training to assist families of children with developmental disabilities (e.g. autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, epilepsy, & others) throughout San Bernardino & Riverside Counties.
• Classes – Parenting classes are available to train parents struggling to attend to their children’s needs. Domestic Violence classes are provided to help survivors develop coping skills & maintain a healthy lifestyle.
• Psychological Assessments – We have staff that are specially trained in administering & interpreting an array of personality, school, developmental, career, & other assessment measures.
