San Diego Parks Foundation was established to provide critical support to the City of San Diego’s Parks & Recreation Department, whose budget cannot meet the entire needs of the City’s extensive park system. As a nonprofit, SDPF secures funding from private and public supporters to address funding gaps for youth programming, infrastructure, and maintenance of neighborhood and community parks. San Diego Parks Foundation is led by a Board of Directors who work closely with elected officials and community leaders to generate new financial and volunteer resources for the City’s many aging parks, under-utilized open spaces, underfunded programs, and recreational resources.
Our mission is to improve the quality of life in communities throughout San Diego through equitable investments in parks, green space, and outdoor recreational opportunities
