The Santa Fe Ten Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in the wake of devastating tragedy. Our MISSION is to design and build a memorial that remembers and honors those who died, and all individuals impacted on May 18, 2018, in the Santa Fe High School shooting. Our VISION is to inspire hope and resilience in our community by creating a thought-provoking space of reflection through a blend of architecture and artistry.

We have partnered with graduate students and educators from the University of Houston Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design to develop a memorial that is as unique as the TEN lives taken from us that day. Other honorable acts include supporting the upkeep of The Unfillable Chair, designed by SFHS 2018-2021 graduates. The chair represents the void that has been left behind in a space where their classmates and teachers can no longer sit and is located in the front of Santa Fe High School. A local artist was also commissioned to create a Warrior Spirit statue that embodies the STRENGTH and duty of those who remain to honor the fallen. In addition, we will be hosting a Run in Remembrance.

The 9/11 Memorial & Museum announced in 2021 that we were selected as a recipient of a seedling from the Survivor Tree which survived at Ground Zero. Only 30 communities around the world have been chosen for this prestigious HONOR. This gift of nature will serve as a national landmark of HOPE that recognizes the strength of those that lost loved ones, COURAGE of those who survived, and salutes the first responders who risked their lives to help others. EDUCATIONAL opportunities for Santa Fe students are in development as part of this unique curriculum which will be further expanded by the Trees for Schools program to teach the next generation on the importance of greenspace and promote resilience, regulation and RECOVERY.

We thank you in advance for your generosity as we continue to find solace and support one another through compassion and solidarity which prove that human DIGNITY will continue to TRIUMPH over human depravity.
