We have served our community since 1954 with a mission to provide access to comprehensive speech, hearing, language and other therapeutic services that empower and transform lives. Sound Start, our early intervention, auditory/verbal program for the deaf was started in 2007 as an intensive program teaching children who make use of cochlear implants or hearing aids to make full use of their listening technology, learning to listen and speak, so they may be mainstreamed into a typical elementary school classroom. It is a profoundly lifechanging program for the children and their families! Like all of our programs, Sound Start if offered without regard to a family's financial means, though scholarships.
