STAHR rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes horses, and offer sanctuary to those that are not adoptable.
Our mission is to rescue horses that are unwanted whether they have been abused, neglected, abandoned, or in threat of being sent to slaughter. Our goal is to rehabilitate these beautiful horses, both physically and mentally, and re-home them to permanent, loving homes. It is also our mission to educate the public on the plight of horses in America today and to make a difference in the lives of horses and people.
Our organization works with volunteers to train them about horses, safety, and animal care. Friendships are built and horses are helped to heal and move on to a new home. We take in horses and adopt them out mostly in the Northern California area.
We are a 100% volunteer organization.
