Feed Scarborough is a food security non-profit located in the east end of Toronto, Canada. We empower our community and provide innovative solutions to poverty reduction through dignified access to food. We advocate for and believe that good, healthy food is a human right.
We have over 6 choice-based food banks that serve over 7500 community members a week and give access to food with dignity and choice. Additionally, we serve over 2000 hot meals per week through our healthy meal programmes.
With a focus on our community, we host events and bring healthy, fresh, affordable food through our Mobile Farmers’ Markets and our Fresh Food Market. We take key steps to help reduce poverty in the Scarborough community; our business incubator program, StarUp Scarborough, helps our clients launch successful businesses.We offer skill training opportunities for people that are seeking employment
We work with all three levels of elected officials and post-secondary educators to research and advocate for food security. Without systemic change, we will forever be offering emergency food programs.
