Hello, my name is Lilly Witherspoon, I am writing on belhalf of the Scleroderma Foundation-Texas Bluebonnet Chapter to ask for your support for an upcoming 12 Annual Dallas/Fort Worth Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma Walk we are hosting in the DFW area on Saturday, June 29, 2019 (World Scleroderma Day) at the Music City Mall in Lewisville, Texas.
This Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma Walk is part of a nationwide effort of forty state and regional chapters to raise funds and awareness for the Scleroderma Foundation's three-fold mission of support, education and research. Each year the chapters raise thousands of dollars from generous supporters like you.
Scleroderma is a chronic, progressive and often fatal autoimmune disease in which the body's own immune system attacks itself. Over 300,000 patients like myself are affected with this disease in the US, the majority of whom are women. Many children are also diagnosed with juvenile scleroderma.
Your sponsorship enables the Foundation to help patients and their families cope with scleroderma through mutual support programs, peer counseling, physician referrals, and educational information. We promote public awareness and education through patient and health professional seminars, literature, and publicity campaigns. The Foundation also stimulates and supports research to improve treatment and ultimately find the cause of and cure for scleroderma and related diseases.
We are aware that you support local non-profit organizations in their fundraising efforts and hope you will consider generously supporting this urgent and worthwhile cause. Our foundation has the highest four-star rating by Charity Navigator and GuideStar Gold Seal of Transparency.
Your company can help by, making it an in-kind products/service donation such as water, breakfast foods, or snacks; Becoming a sponser by making a financial contribution of any amount (Sponsor Levels are available and are on a different form); Providing donations of promotional items for the event.
