The SDSU Children's Center is a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive care and education services to children, families, students, and staff of San Diego State University and the neighboring San Diego community. We are self-supporting with little additional monetary support beyond parent user fees. The Center offers a year-round educational program that caters to children aged between six months and five years, with an enrollment of over 200 children annually.

The SDSU Children’s Center also serves as an academic practicum site for students majoring in Child and Family Development and Early Education. Over 125 students are employed part-time at the Center, allowing them to apply their academic learning to real-world experience. The Center collaborates with a variety of academic departments to research topics related to children, families, and best practices in the field of early childhood education. These collaborations have yielded valuable insights that have contributed to the development of the Center's educational program and have helped shape the broader discourse on early childhood education.
