SEAL Family Legacy (SFL) is a 100% volunteer non profit organization, comprised of both veterans and civilians that:
- Raises awareness for service men/women with children who were killed in service.
- Supports the immediate family/children they left behind with a financial donation.
- Supports the children left behind by instilling the message that they have their own legacy; their life must go on and the loss of their parent does not define who they are or who they can become.
We accomplish this by holding a large gala and auction, a large awareness ride that includes a personal, hand-delivered financial donation to the families of the fallen and an appreciation ceremony along with other events throughout the year.
Each year, a minimum of two Gold Star families, including one SEAL family, is selected to be honored and invited to the dinner and ride. All proceeds from events and private donations are donated directly to the selected families. A team or large group of patriots travel to the location where the family resides and personally presents the donation to the family of the fallen. Each child also receives a birthday card along with a financial donation on their birthday each year until their 18th birthday. No monies are paid to any SFL organizational members – EVER.
At these events, we share our appreciation of the life and service of U.S. KIA service members and the families they left behind. We want others to know who these individuals are, personally, and for their families to feel the support and love from those who support us. We know that when you participate in one of our events, it is life-impacting, and is not something you will ever forget.
