The mission of Search Inc. (Search) is to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to achieve their full potential, accept a valued role in their community and lead rich, rewarding lives. Our vision is a world where all people live, learn, work, and play alongside one another, bringing their unique abilities to the community.
Search is a community-based nonprofit founded in 1968. Today, our programs serve more than 350 individuals and their families annually at locations stretching from the Lincoln Square neighborhood in Chicago to the northern suburbs of Evanston, Skokie, Morton Grove and Mount Prospect. The quality services offered by Search include critical programming in the areas of Supported Living, Adult Learning, Career Services, Clinical Services, Community Education and Social Ventures programs.
