Second City Canine Rescue’s mission is to rescue homeless dogs, throughout the Chicago area and beyond, and responsibly place them into permanent, loving homes. We ensure every dog we rescue receives excellent care and that all breeds, ages, sizes, and colors are welcomed and loved. Since opening our doors, our adoption numbers have increased by more than 10% each year which is gratifying—but comes with higher costs. At SCCR, we believe dog adoption should be widely available, so we set our adoption fees at reasonable rates that do not cover all that we spend on each dog.
