Selwyn is a non-sectarian, college-preparatory, independent school serving pre-school through grade 12 students. A member of the National Association of Independent Schools, Selwyn provides the most thoroughly individualized, comprehensive and developmentally appropriate array of student-focused experiences in North Texas. Our students grow into independent thinkers and creative problem solvers who are highly resilient, emotionally intelligent leaders prepared for effective citizenship in a global society.
Our mission is to cultivate global citizens who embrace complex challenges with empathetic and innovative thinking that advances the human condition.
We know that today’s learners face problems that are complex and constantly changing. Twenty-first century careers are evolving more quickly than in any time in human history. Increasing numbers of employers cite problem-solving skills, community building, and leadership development as lacking among candidates and as important as academics to innovation and contribution. Selwyn’s mission revolves around this broader set of skills. We offer an experiential, individualized, and student-centered learning environment for all our students that encourages independent thinking and persistent attention to evolving, proven educational practices and philosophies.
