The Seminole County Bar Association Legal Aid Society (SCBALAS) was founded in 1975 to provide free quality legal advocacy to Seminole County’s economically disadvantaged persons to improve their quality of life and enhance their self-sufficiency. We are a not for profit 501 (c) 3 organization. Since then SCBALAS has grown to a team of four staff attorneys who assist Seminole County’s economically disadvantaged along with the help of multiple other volunteer lawyers who donate legal services. Our pro bono attorney pro bono program was recently recognized by the General Section of the Florida Bar in June of 2018. These services include providing legal counsel and legal representation to women leaving domestic abuse, veterans, seriously ill children, and others who because of economic challenges cannot afford legal services. Our team works tirelessly to ensure the disadvantaged have access to the justice system to adjudicate their serious legal issues in Seminole County.
