Serenity High is one of the nation's longest tenured recovery high schools, located in McKinney ISD, but serves students all over North Texas. Serenity High provides a safe, sober, and encouraging environment for students in recovery from substance misuse and want to achieve their high school diploma. Public school funds that the school receives are not adequate for the specialized curriculum these students require. I have been on the board for 7 years as I believe in the mission of this school and have witnessed the impact it has on students. I wish I had known about this school for my own son... he might be alive today had I been made aware of its existence. This school helps to change the trajectory of young lives.
