Second Genesis Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to assist the Greater Washington community in the prevention and treatment of addiction.
Since our inception in 2016, we have provided over $700,000 in support to programs and initiatives related to substance abuse prevention, treatment, and education.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, opioid deaths have surged in our area. In 2020, D.C. saw fatal opioid overdoses increase by an astonishing 46%, Maryland saw a nearly 55% increase, and in Virginia fatal overdoses increased by 42%. Today, individuals in the 50-and-under age group are more likely to die from an overdose than any other cause, including heart disease and cancer.
On June 27th we are hosting a charity golf tournament at Lansdowne to raise support for individuals and families impacted by addiction. http://www.secondgenesis.org/golf
We would like to invite Six Flags to support this event and provide a donation for our Silent Auction. We expect to have an attendance of approximately 120 players, consisting of business leaders and philanthropists invested in making a change in our community.
