The Shane Pinard Future Fisherman’s foundation is a nonprofit organization that was started in honor of Mindy’s son. Shane had a passion for sharing his love of fishing with everyone around him. His mother, Mindy, started the foundation after his passing with the goal of fulfilling a dream he had. Shane wanted to bring the opportunity and access to enjoy fishing to young people by teaching them about fishing, providing them with the chance to find the same enjoyment he had for the sport, and teaching them how to be safe in doing so. Here are some of the programs we offer, and plan for the future.
➢ Ice fishing classes to teach kids how to safely walk on the ice, use an ice auger, and prevent hypothermia
➢ Fly tying and casting
➢ Fishing club that meets regularly to demonstrate and practice skills
➢ Field Trips such as the fish hatchery’s
➢ Bait, lures, snacks, and refreshments are provided at no cost to the participants
➢ Never a charge for an activity. If a child cannot afford a pole or necessary gear, it is furnished at no charge
