We are honored to be among East Bay's longest-running community arts nonprofits. As a home for artists and students, Shawl-Anderson Dance Center (SADC) programs engage over 1,000 people weekly, ages 2 to over 90. SADC’s mission is to build and support a vital and inclusive community for movers of all ages in all styles.

We are very proud to be neighbors to your business in the East Bay and hope that the robust attendance at SADC helps fuel our local economy together! We are writing today to share more about our programs and to ask you to consider an in-kind donation for our upcoming online auction that supports and sustains SADC’s work.

SADC is more than just a studio–it is a dance center that helps make the East Bay a genuinely creative and thriving place to live, shop, and visit. Your donation of an in-kind item or service will support the following:

●      Our annual artist residencies which offer hundreds of hours of free studio space and monetary stipends to make the work of dancemaking possible.

●      The re-emergence of our Dance Up Close/East Bay program, which produces the work of incredibly talented East Bay artists to bring cutting-edge performances to the public.

●      Fiscal sponsorship of small East Bay dance companies and choreographers gives artists support with the business side of their work and leaves them more time to create.

With a 66-year network of students, artists, and teachers, we expect over 1,000 individuals nationwide to peruse our online auction. You will gain significant exposure for your business through participation, and your donation will help dance thrive here in the Bay Area for artists and audiences alike. We will acknowledge your support on our website, promote your goods and services on social media, and thank you for your tax-deductible in-kind contribution.

Thank you for participating in our vision to share in the work of reimagining and creating equitable and positive spaces for expression in the Bay Area.
